Retired Chicago Bears cornerback Jerry Azumah and I received the royal treatment during a sit down interview at contemporary pizzeria La Madia in River North. We talked shop about why he’s chosen Chicago as his home after retiring from the Bears more than 2 years ago, future plans for his ASAP (Azumah Student Assistance Program) foundation, his work doing Bears post game coverage for Comcast Sportsnet and what it’s really like as one of the most fashionable, successful and influential people in the city. With all that talking we worked up an appetite and thankfully Chef Proprietor Jonathon Fox kept the food coming as we noshed on some of La Madia’s house specialties like Arugula Salad, 3 Hour Roasted Grapes Pizza, and Gnocchi….YUM!
